Now onto the weekly roundup…
More than 2/3 of companies (68%) anticipate revenue growth of up to 10% in 2025. “Cautious optimism” seems to be the mantra for the year ahead.
It’s not news that women leaders face discrimination, but it’s a bit overwhelming to learn that they report 30 types of discrimination (from accent to attractiveness). 😳
Speaking of discrimination against women, Walt Disney will pay $43.3 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that its female employees in California earned $150 million less than their male counterparts over an eight-year period.
A new study highlights the need for free and reliable childcare. Becoming a mother significantly reduces the likelihood of women starting a business and, for those already running companies, motherhood leads to declines in profits and jeopardizes long-term survival.
Need further proof that Corporate America can’t be trusted to do the right thing? Coca-Cola reduced its environmental goal from 50% recycled material in packaging by 2035 to 35-40%. Holiday bonuses sound great, but is it what your employees actually want? There’s a good chance they’d prefer stock options, additional paid time off, a four-day workweek, or fully covered health insurance.
Want to add 11 years to your life? It will take 160 minutes a day (that feels like a tall order for busy business owners…).
