Intuition, Pleasure, Storytelling, and Feminist Parenting
Week 2 of the Feminist Founders Audio Event
The second week of the Feminist Founders Audio Summit is here 🎉 I couldn't be more excited to share what’s in store.
This week, we’re diving into topics that explore the intersection of intuition, pleasure, storytelling, and feminist parenting.
But first, what is this event?
The Feminist Founders Audio Summit is a month-long series featuring 20 in-depth interviews with thought leaders who are challenging the traditional narratives around business, success, and personal fulfillment.
Week 2 is packed with wisdom from four incredible guests—
, Goddess Erica, , and . Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect when you upgrade to get access to the private podcast feed.Meet the Changemakers
Day 1 (today!): Ixchel Lunar
Have you ever questioned whether your relationship with time might be shaped by colonial influences? Ixchel dives deep into this thought-provoking topic, explaining how the way we perceive and use time has been shaped by colonial and capitalist structures.
A particularly powerful insight is Ixchel’s discussion of stolen time, a concept rooted in Dr. Brittney Cooper’s work. “Time has been stolen in that especially Black people have been basically erased from history,” Ixchel shares, urging us to recognize and resist this erasure.
But Ixchel doesn’t stop at diagnosing the problem; they also offer guidance on how to begin decolonizing your relationship with time. "Find a spot where you can sit and just observe the world around you on a day-to-day basis," Ixchel advises. This practice disrupts the rigid, clock-driven pace of colonial time and reconnects you with a more fluid, natural rhythm.

Day 2 (Tuesday): Goddess Erica
Get ready for a radical perspective on the power of pleasure as a tool for liberation. “Pleasure is freedom,” Goddess Erica asserts. In our conversation, she explores how society is structured to extract as much from us as possible, leaving us disconnected from our desires and depleted.
Goddess Erica reframes pleasure as a human right and a tool for personal liberation, self-discovery, and decolonization. “It’s the most powerful tool we have at our disposal.” Erica dives deep into the different ways we can experience pleasure in your daily life.
This conversation isn’t just about feeling good—it’s about reclaiming your power and connecting with your truest self. Erica’s words are both thought-provoking and actionable, making this episode a must-listen for anyone ready to start living an orgasmic life.

Day 3 (Wednesday): Ellie Kime
Midweek, we’re joined by Ellie Kime, who offers a fresh take on the true meaning of enthusiasm and how to reignite it even in challenging times. Don’t worry—she says enthusiasm is more than relentless positivity.
"It’s about wanting to do things even when the going gets tough," she says. “How can we not be enthusiastic? It’s literally all we’ve got,” she says, highlighting the importance of finding and making time for what lights us up, even if it’s just a small act of joy.
One of the most inspiring parts of our discussion is Ellie’s take on the connection between enthusiasm and authenticity. "We live in a society that tells us we shouldn’t be enthusiastic," she notes. But embracing what excites us, despite societal pressures to conform, is an act of reclaiming our true selves.

Day 4 (Thursday): Jo-Ann Finkelstein
Rounding out the week, clinical psychologist Jo-Ann Finkelstein delves into the unique challenges women face in balancing business ownership with parenting, especially in a culture that places disproportionate caregiving expectations on women.
Jo-Ann describes the mental load women carry: "Every mother I know complains about the mental exhaustion of managing all the tiny details of making a household run smoothly. They're deeply frustrated, enraged, resentful, and sometimes divorced because they can't seem to make their male partners understand."
While many parents today identify as feminists, Jo-Ann notes they aren’t necessarily preparing them for a sexist world. "Girl power is wonderful for building a can-do attitude and self-respect for the female gender, but it doesn't prepare girls for the hidden biases and unfair or unsavory behavior they're going to experience," says the author of the upcoming book, Sexism and Sensitivity: Raising Empowered, Resilient Girls in the Modern World.
