These conversations are packed with transformative ideas, and I’ve pulled out eight key tips from this week’s incredible guests—
, , , and —that you can start applying to your life and business right now.Tip 1: Embrace Body Liberation by Unlearning Harmful Narratives
Chrissy King emphasizes the importance of unlearning the harmful narratives society has taught us about our bodies. “We didn’t get to this place of discontent with our bodies overnight, so we’re not going to reach liberation overnight either. It’s a journey, and we have to show ourselves grace and compassion every single day.”
This tip is a reminder to be patient with yourself. Body liberation isn’t a quick fix; it’s a lifelong process of unlearning and relearning how to love and respect the body you’re in.
Tip 2: Body Liberation is a Collective Effort
Chrissy also highlights the collective nature of liberation. “Our liberation is tied to one another. None of us are free unless all of us are free.”
It’s not just about personal freedom; it’s about contributing to a world where every body can exist free from harm and discrimination. Consider how you can support body liberation not just for yourself, but for others in your community.
Tip 3: Reconnect with Your Body’s Wisdom
Kelsey Blackwell offers this powerful insight: “Colonization is inherently an assault on the body...we lose a relationship to what it means to be human bodies that are inherently in relationship with the Earth.”
One way to start healing this disconnection is by listening to your body. Slow down, pay attention to the signals it’s sending you, and honor what you hear. This simple yet profound practice can lead to more aligned decisions in both your personal life and business.
Tip 4: Ancestral Healing is for Everyone
Kelsey also shares the importance of ancestral healing: “We all have ancestors who at some point, engaged in earth-honoring practices...and then something comes in and disrupts that or disconnects our people from those practices. The work is about weaving back in what has been lost.”
Whether you come from a line of colonizers or the colonized, reconnecting with your ancestry can help heal the wounds of the past and empower you to move forward in a way that’s deeply rooted and intentional.
Tip 5: Move from Self-Love to Self-Acceptance
Deepshikha Sairam challenges the popular notion of self-love, calling it a “psy-op by patriarchy.” She says, “Striving for self-love is a psy-op by patriarchy because if you are going to always strive for self-love, you will always buy more and more things… But self-love is a utopia.”
Instead, Deepshikha advocates for a shift toward self-acceptance and self-compassion. This shift isn’t just about feeling good; it’s about freeing yourself from the endless cycle of consumerism and perfectionism.
Tip 6: Embrace the Sacred Feminine as a Path to Healing
Deepshikha also emphasizes the healing power of the sacred feminine: “Sacred feminine is the decolonization... The journey of sacred feminine is the journey home to self, is the journey back to healing… It’s going back to how it was before.”
By reconnecting with the sacred feminine, you can begin to decolonize your mind and body, shedding the patriarchal conditioning that has kept you small. This isn’t just personal work—it’s revolutionary.
Tip 7: Explore the Unseen Parts of Yourself with Shadow Work
Erica Courdae breaks down the concept of shadow work: “Shadow work is the act of exploring who and how you are within the frequently unexplored parts of yourself. It’s about processing the experiences that shape you, especially those tucked away in the shadowy corners of your mind.”
This deep, introspective work is essential for understanding how past traumas and unprocessed experiences affect your current behaviors and relationships. By bringing these shadows into the light, you can start to heal and grow.
Tip 8: Use Shadow Work to Build Trust and Interdependence
Erica also discusses how shadow work can help you build stronger, more trusting relationships: “In order to figure out how to better combine with others, how to be more open to being a part of an interdependent unit...we have to identify where some of our traumas are and how they have caused us to feel like we have to only depend on ourselves and cannot trust others.”
By doing this work, you can start to dismantle the walls that keep you isolated and open yourself up to the possibility of true interdependence and community.
